​​WHAT IS DECA?

DECA is the national association for students and teachers of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. It is a co-curricular student organization, as DECA activities are designed to reinforce the competencies taught in the Marketing Management and Sports and Entertainment Marketing Pathways. Through DECA, North Forsyth High School students learn what it takes to be successful in today's fast-paced world of marketing.

The Mission
The mission of DECA is to  prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing,  finance, hospitality and management  in high schools and colleges around the globe.

​Scholarship Opportunities
DECA’s   Scholarship Program  awards over $250,000 in merit-based scholarships annually at the International Career Development Conference, funded by 50+ corporate partners.

Leadership Development

Leadership development is a core principle of DECA, with around 50,000 members participating in its programs. These programs focus on six key skills: effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork, resource management, knowledge acquisition, and ethics.

Gain 21st Century Skills
92% of DECA members say they improved communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, while gaining insight into workplace expectations.
Prepared to Become Leaders
Over 90% of members feel DECA empowered them as leaders and connected school to real life. Nearly 80% gained a deeper appreciation for community service.
Motivated for the Future
88% say DECA prepared them for college and careers, 68% were influenced in their college plans, 75% in career choices, and 61% gained interest in entrepreneurship.
